IDfunction: seamlessly integrated at LVM Insurance

IDfunction: seamlessly integrated at LVM Insurance

In close cooperation with its long-term system partner Bosch Energy and Building Solutions, evolutionID has fundamentally simplified and streamlined ID card production and many other functions at a major insurance company with its ID management system IDfunction.

With more than 3.7 million customers, over 4 billion euros in premium income and investments of 21.4 billion euros, LVM is one of the 20 leading insurers in Germany. “We employ around 3,900 people at our corporate headquarters in Münster alone,” calculates Michael König at LVM Insurance. “So you have to multiply the time required for HR administrative processes, for example in the creation of a passport photo for the employee ID card, by 3900 in each case. It quickly becomes clear why we were looking for a streamlined solution in this area.”

The LVM managers found what they were looking for at evolutionID. Our ID management system IDfunction shows its strengths not least in the integration into existing systems. It was no problem for us to dock IDfunction onto the MATRIX access management system – without having to change anything in the Bosch solution. All recorded data is automatically synchronized between the systems within a few seconds.

Once integrated into the system, IDfunction can unleash its strengths in many areas. Images of employees are now conveniently and time-savingly captured via AI-assisted facial recognition, used for badge production and passed on to other systems.

“A corporate IT system is, of course, always an evolved structure,” explains Stefan Häckel. In order not to have to start from scratch again after the changeover, it was particularly important for us that existing images could be transferred smoothly and continue to be used without restrictions.”

For the highly flexible ID management system IDfunction, this was just as little a problem as the continued use of an existing stock of pre-coded ID cards with Mifare DESFire ID card encoding. The new badges are printed in different designs, single-sided or double-sided, entirely according to customer requirements. As soon as the ID card stocks with precoding have been used up, production continues smoothly with IDfunction. IDfunction then applies all the required coding. IDfunction also handles the number range management and provides the interface for other systems. For example, LVM Insurance employees can use their ID cards to print to a wide range of printers in companies via FollowMe-Printing using a central print server.

“The problems with inventory integration as well as with conversions of UID or with interfaces to other systems and applications have been solved by evolutionID in a very constructive and pragmatic way,” praises Stefan Häckel “IDfunction runs smoothly in combination with the proven access control Bosch MATRIX and will quickly pay for itself through its streamlining functions.”
